I had the pleasure of hosting a Springtime Soirée Dinner with Girls Who Meet, an organization that brings women in New York City together through thoughtfully curated experiences in the city. Our intimate dinner was a celebration of spring and new beginnings with new connections.

Setting the Spring Scene
The tablescape featured candles and small bud vases filled with roses, ranunculus, delphinium, carnations and tulips provided by Maria Fernanda Arrambide from @petalsandpearsny. We also added fresh citrus fruits like lemons, grapefruits, and oranges, creating a natural and refreshing ambiance. We wanted to make sure to create a space that fosters a cozy yet beautiful atmosphere for conversation and connection.
A Multi Coursed Spring Menu
To kickoff this springtime soiree, each guest with Spring Pea Crostinis topped with radishes, cucumber, dill, and candied pistachios by Live Loud Foods.
At the table we served dinner rolls with a tarragon lemon compound butter that was served individually and accompanied by a Roasted Carrot and Bean Dip with Dill and Crispy Shallots.
For the second course, we served an Asparagus Potato Soup with Pancetta to celebrate the flavors of spring.
Next was a Rhubarb Mint Granita - a cool, refreshing break to cleanse the palate before the main course.
For the main we served a Saffron Seafood Risotto which had shrimp, scallops, and squid. We served a Mushroom Risotto for the vegetarian option.
And last but not least, we ended the dinner with a slice of Earl Grey Basque Cheesecake with Strawberry Coulis and berries.
Deepening Connections
In line with the tradition of Newel Tasting Table's past dinners, we incorporated a reflective spring inspired question for each guest to answer, enhancing the depth of the conversations. This engagement allowed our guests to share personal insights and stories, which opened up the table to heartfelt stories and shared experiences, reinforcing the community bond.

As the night drew to a close, each guest was gifted a goodie bag from Girls Who Meet. This included a lipstick from Pinch of Color, candied pistachios from Live Loud Foods, and a recipe card of the cheesecake from yours truly!
