This Blood Orange Whiskey Sour is a twist on the classic Whiskey Sour cocktail. We're making use of winter's blood oranges which gives it a nice pink color, the egg white gives it a creamy texture, and for the garnish we added a smoked rosemary for an herby essence and a festive look.

Cocktail Ingredients
Olive Oil Carrot Cake Ingredients
- Blood Orange: If you can't find blood oranges, you can substitute for navel or Cara Cara oranges.
- Lemon: The lemon juice will give that acidity to the whisky sour.
- Maple syrup: I like using maple syrup, but you can also use honey
- Egg whites: Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Shaking the eggs whites in the shaker with the ice and the other ingredients will transform it into froth. If you're not into egg whites in your cocktail, you can remove this and it would still taste delicious.
- Whiskey: The type of whiskey is up to you. I'd imagine you won't want to use your most expensive bottle.
- Rosemary: this is an optional ingredient to add for garnish. I like to light up some of the leaves of rosemary with a match or lighter to bring out the smoky rosemary aroma to the cocktail.

Can you make this cocktail in advance?
If you want to make this cocktail in advance, best to keep the cocktail mix and the egg whites separate until it's ready to serve.
You can add all blood orange juice, lemon juice, maple syrup, and whiskey in a container and the egg whites in another and keep in the refrigerator. When you're ready, add the cocktail mix and egg white with ice in a shaker and shake for 20 seconds until the shaker is frosted.
